So...I went to theatres to watch this one...and I'm cheap...but honestly, I'd pay to see it again.
I am..well an in-the-closet-romantic...I don't like to let people know I believe in the sappy stuff. but this movie brought out the inner girl in me. I squirmed at every moment of cuteness, I wanted to cry...but I don't usually cry in movies but I came close because of the sweetness. What can I say? Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra just need to get married already...I'm not sure what's happening in real life but they looked simply adorable in every era. Basically, the storyline of each era in my opinion was the same, the guy and girl meet, they fall for each other, he screws up somewhere along the way, he owns up to his mistakes for her and she forgives him. Regardless of the lack of originality of the actual plot of the movie, it was filled with surprises that will make you squirm with the cuteness, amazing acting and...the MUSIC!
The music for this movie was AMAZING. The songs I felt were true to the era they were performed in, they really helped establish the setting and bring along the plot of each era. Although I was slightly disturbed by the choreography for Humse Pyar Karle Tu...he might as well be bumping and grinding...it ruined the cuteness and innocence of love. But the song lyrics and music is amazing to listen to...and the dancing besides that one move was amazing, and Priyanka seriously rocking the punjabi girl look! I feel that she is the most versatile actress in the business, she can pull off any look as I saw in this movie and in 7 khoon maaf...I am excited to see the other looks she goes through in her performances, I have no doubt that she will become a timeless beauty. *ahem* My little girl crush on Priyanka aside, Teri Meri Kahani is definately an amazing movie for a girls night out...not so sure about family friendly...there are some sketchy scenes...they don't last long, so I'm not sure of it's a "Kid-Proof" movie.
Overall, I enjoyed watching it, the performances were amazing and it was...well what most Bollywood movies in my opinion are failing to be these days...entertaining.

My Review: Ishaqzaade
Ok..so I kind didn't post...since my first post. I should really learn to commit to something. my commitment issues aside, I wanted to start posting again...well start posting period. I guess...maybe because I am in school and need something to do while I procrastinate.
This post is going to be a movie review...of a bollywood movie. It might be a little late but I finally had a chance to watch it and quite honestly, I couldn't get over it. The story line was amazing, it's very different from most of the movies that are coming out these days...well for one like I said, it had a story. I am going to try not to give too much away when I talk about this, but we'll see where this goes.
The story is a modern (sort of) Romeo Juliette story. Its modern in a sense that it takes place in 2011/2012 but not so much modern when looking at the issues shown in the movie. The two main characters Zoya and Parma are very headstrong, proud individuals who are surprisingly likable. I was very pleased with the portrayal of Zoya, she was a very strong female character who having grown up in a house of brothers does her best to keep up with them. We see she lets her temper take control of her and is completely fearless when held to gun point. She is however, portrayed as naive at the same time as if to say "she should have stayed in her place as a woman", she is fooled into thinking that her father's love for her was unconditional, she would be treated equally to her brothers and...well watch the movie and you'll see the biggest thing she was fooled into thinking which leads to her ultimate downfall. The portrayal of Parma's mother as the tragic hero was incredibly beautiful...as you can see I was very pleased with the portrayal of women in this movie...more so than Roma's portrayal in Don which just embarrassed me. (-______-).
OHHH and I actually cried at the end...that is very rare for me. So I guess what I am trying to say is if you're sick of the cheesy, stupid movies that are coming out these days and are looking for a little substance...watch this movie. This is a love story...which gives it some license for cheesiness, but there is legit plot and the ending is...different.

First Blog
I feel that since this is my first blog I should formally introduce myself...which I don't want to bother with quite yet....and I should probably address what I hope to accomplish by posting these blogs...to be honest I have a few ideas as to what I want to do...I just don't have a clear theme that I am going to be following. So hopefully, I'll be blogging a few of the following:
-advice columns
-movie/book/tv show reviews
-rants
-randomness....
As you can tell...I am a big fan of ellipses...
ahem...
Ok...I'll stop...I lied... ;)
Anyways, the other thing I wanted to address was why I am blogging...simply because school is out and I am bored...and I have a lot to say and not enough friends to say it to (I'm not a loner!...I think....).
Yeah...I think this is it for my first blog...
Cheers!
